| Biography | ||
KIMBERLY MICHAELS is an artist on an exceptional & remarkable journey. Not just because she's continually learning how to master the art of creating mood with tone, pitch & melody. Not just because she's a versatile singer who delivers naked soul & honesty delivered with an intoxicatingly passionate vibe. She's on a unique lifelong journey down an artist's path that could only be hers. Born halfway around the world in Seoul, South Korea, as Park Sung Hee, this adopted Korean became a native Minnesotan at just 6-months old. In Minnetonka, music entered Kimberly's life early in her childhood. She began her classical training in piano at age four. And over time, Kimberly earned her way into Opera, R&B, and Pop societies. Later, she worked to school herself musically in between college, enduring several road tours and excursions, and via Los Angeles (where she lived for four years). After working with several world renown artists in CA, she moved back to Minnesota to dig into her college career. Today, The Kimberly Michaels Band allows her to express her true vocal passions with such contemporary influences as Dianne Reeves, Maysa Leak (Incognito), Sade, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Sarah Vaughn, Jill Scott, Nora Jones, Whitney Houston & Lizz Wright.
Kimberly is a busy and respected Vocalist in & out of the
Twin Cities. She is currently working on recording an independent Solo Album
under the direction of
Tony Axtell
(Axtell Production),
and has been singing with her own band:
The Kimberly Michaels Band.
But You can also find Kimberly by following the gigs of the popular Twin
Cities Bands:
'The R-Factor'
(formerly Rupert’s
Orchestra)
among a
few other local Twin Cities Bands.
